1930's Swisscross Barrel Organ Manivelle kit
Purchased via e-Bay but found to be incomplete. with the wrong type of movement and poor instructions.
Luckily I stumbled across a finished one on e-Bay so was able to work out what to do.

A new Manivelle movement was purchased playing "The Happy Wanderer" which seemed apt.
The scant instructions that accompanied the kit required some 'interpretation' and several parts needed to be reduced in size to make them fit. There were also several mystery components, but on finding images of a complete kit I realised that the wheels were missing and three pieces of mahogany were handles and a leg.
A new spacer block was required to which to fix the movement and I decided not to glue on the tops or the back so that it would be possible to service the movement at a later date without destroying the box.
All joints were glued using hide glue, which is reversible.
The wheels and hubcaps have been added. Two coats of clear varnish so it's ready for the street!
