6/103 Cartel circa 1830 Serial no 2861 - Restoration Diary
Bought from a private seller via eBay in October 2023.
Unusual rare tune sheet, intact, but glued to the inside of the lid.
Anthony Bullied's publication shows a similar tune sheet no 259 as unattributed.
The series number is 4216 making this find a little earlier.

She tells me that the box belonged to her grandmother's family and has spent several yers in the loft as it was unloved and unappreciated.

Issues found on first inspection:
Apart from the usual oil, rust and dust ...
Two teeth missing.
Only four or five dampers present.
Stop mechanism pin broken off and missing.
Quite a lot of missing and bent pins - it may need re-pinning.
One fixing screw and washer missing from the outside of the box.
On the up-side, it runs, and runs well.
The Geneva Stop mechanism is not damaged.
The case has no woodworm and is in pretty good condition.
