2/22 Trinket / Cigarette Box
This little box belongs to a friend who asked me to restore it to former glory and line the trinket section with velvet.
It's identical to ones I've seen by Tallent of Old Bond Street, but there is no Tallent badge so probably not.
The 22 note 2 tune movement by Gueissaz is marked 1848 to 1948. The firm still exists so it is safe to assume the this movement was made in 1948.
The case had two missing pieces of carving, one I had the other needed to be made..
One hinge was 'dodgy' but otherwise it was sound.
A good clean and service for the movement, new piece of carving, clean and polish for the box, new hinge pin and it was as good as new.
