2/50 JGM & Co Tabatiére
2 tune, 50 note movement in handmade box (not original). Tunes unknown.
This movement had been modified when moved to it's new box. The brake mechanism was removed and the external controls were not reinstated in the new box. This means that the movement plays until the spring is completely unwound which might result in some of the pins flexing the comb for long periods. Fortunately none had broken, which can happen.

Work involved:
Strip down, clean, reassemble, lubricate & adjust movement.
Source a brake lever and screw. (I was lucky to find a box of spares for sale on E-bay which just happened to include the correct part)
Add a new return spring and new screw to hold it in place.
This box is now finished.
This mechanism may well find itself in a new, more suitable, box sometime in the future.
