1/18 Trinket Box with Premilex movement
This is a commission from Sally Kertzman who wanted me to bring this box back to life.
The internal fittings had been modified and the rear liner broken off.
The movement was partly dismantled. The spring arbor hook had broken off, otherwise good condition

The rear liner was pared down to level with the main box. A new sliver of timber cut and shaped then glued in place.
The mechanism compartment supports were removed revealing the original channels for the divider. Four posts glued in place to support the divider and the new clear polycarbonate cover. The spring arbor pin was drilled out and replaced to form a new hook The movement was stripped down to individual components, cleaned, polished, reassembled and tested before being fitted with new screws. The polycarbonate cover was cut and shaped to fit snugly without screws. The interior of the lid and trinket compartment lined with velvet. Cover lid made to fit over the movement compartment. |
Movement running well
